Miguel Ángel Prieto and Jaime Viña, Ambassadors of Gijón 2023

The “Ambassadors of Gijón” 2023 award was presented to Dr Miguel Ángel Prieto and Mr Jaime Viña Olay yesterday.

Mr. Miguel Ángel Prieto is a Primary Care Physician at the Regional Ministry of Health of the Principality of Asturias and the 3rd Vice President of SEMERGEN, the Spanish Society of Primary Care Physicians. He is also the Senior Organizer of SEMERGEN Congresses and Conferences. Mr. Jaime Viña Olay is an Industrial Engineer with a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Oviedo. He is a Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering Professor at Oviedo University. The recognition of both gentlemen highlights the significance of the medical and health sectors in promoting conferences in scientific and technological areas, which are the most frequently held conferences in the city.

The event was held at Laboral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial, and was produced and organised by the Event Agency mg lab. Alquisa handled the sound and lighting of the various spaces, and Catering Malena provided the cocktail service.
